I got an email this morning about a movie coming out this month. It's only being released in New York, LA, and San Fransisco but if it does well it will be released more widely. I was skeptical as I tend to be but I went out to the website and watched the trailer. It brought tears to my eyes. It amazing how all of the feelings and emotions of giving birth can flood back so quickly. If this movie was coming anywhere near Small Town Midwest, I would be there in a heart beat. Go check it out for yourself.

Hey Heth...I've been following this movie for awhile now (but haven't seen it yet). It's gotten quite a bit of attention in my group of "radical" homebirthing hippie mama friends (I say that in a loving way of course, because I'm one too) ha. :) There have been several screenings around the Midwest...I know Des Moines had one. Anywhoo...it was featured on the cover of Mothering this month. Good stuff!

Yeah, our local ICAN hosted a screening in Des Moines in November. It was really a great movie, and our event was such a success, as well.

I really need to see this movie. I looked for a Denver showing location and was shocked to see there were NONE!? It's such a child-centered/family-oriented/crunchy kinda place, too.
I'm afraid my most recent birth has made me so fearful of childbirth that I won't even try to have a baby (if there are any) naturally (either at home or the hospital). I need something to show me that it can be beautiful and safe because right now when I imagine the future, I see myself booking another c-section without thought. I am not pregnant, BTW. Just speculating...
You know you can get it from Netvlix right?
