Don't you just hate it when you are trying to get to the DVD menu and it won't let you? The little "talk to the hand" hand flashes and let's you know that you HAVE to read this piracy warning. Or worse, you HAVE to watch this preview. It seems that no matter how fast, or how hard, or how many times I push the menu button, it won't let me access it until it is good and ready. I feel controlled.
DVD, you are SO not the boss of me.

So yes, I totally agree with you.
Usually I am putting a movie on as a baby-sitter when I need a few minutes to myself and I usually can't get that movie playing nearly fast enough.
LOL i do that all the time!! There is away around it. I will ask my hubby what it is and will let you know!
ROTFL!! Yes, yes, yes! I hate those DVDs that won't let you skip all that crap. Thomas the Tank Engine DVDs are the WORST offenders...not only does it take forever to get to the menu, they force you to hear EVERY option ON the menu before you can select any of them!
That's why I love Ping. Just pop it in and let it go.

the piracy warning... i can handle. the previews.... i completely ABHOR!! I've already spent $$ on the DVD and have earned the right to not watch previews!!! (gee, wonder how I really feel about this?!)

Just use the skip ahead screen or the fast forward till you get to the menu.

I just want peace and quite soooo I put on a DVD so the kids are quite and I have peace and YES the Stupid previews and the kids are not yet quite I said I need peace..... And after 12 minutes we get it to play and they say I want to watch something else AHHHHHH!!!!
I've found lately that if I push the button (next) the little arrow, it will go through the previews etc. until I can get to the menu. I just keep pushing the (next) button.

My husband has the same issues, so he ripped all our dvd's to a media player. No more previews, fbi warning or hand.
hi! i found your blog through another, and wanted to de-lurk and say i love your site! it looks like you've got a great family- and i, too, have found the occaisional dvd's "i'll force you to watch these previews whether you like it or not" tactics sickening. i've found if i hit the chapter up button at just the right time i can still avoid them, when the menu button doesn't do the trick :).

Ha ha. I know exactly what you're talking about. Btw, thank you for the Plumb recommendation. I hadn't checked them out in awhile. I also LOVED the picture of your little man's chubby hands and feet. Mine is growing altogether too fast, but we all know how that goes.
