Chariots of Fire

Da dadada daaaaa da, Da dadada daaaaaaa, Da dadada daaaaaa da, Da dadada da. Ok, so that was me singing the chariots of fire theme song. I have a great voice don't I?

We ran our big race today and it was so great. I almost showed up for the race in my flip flops, (seriously, I forgot to put my running shoes on, we had to go back for them) but we got that all straightened out. I even wore my lucky Queen Bee running socks that Natalie got for me. The weather was perfect.

Nate did an awesome job. He pulled out some speed that I didn't know he had in him, totally finishing faster than his goal time by a minute and a half. And I ran the first mile or so with him and then tried to pull out some speed of my own. I set my sights on a girl way up ahead with a pink shirt on, and passed her with a good three quarters of a mile left. YAY! I am still wondering though if the spectators at the finish line were clapping and encouraging me because that's what spectators do, or if it was just a curtesy clap because I looked like I was about to die and they felt really sorry for me. hmmm, I'm not going to think about that too much longer......

Anyway, now Nate has a race under his belt, and I have two under mine. But best of all, now we have really nerdy matching t-shirts that we can wear on the same day and look like one of those matchy couples who dress the same. Isn't that cute??!
