Treasure Hunter

Places you will find loose change laying around:

  • Under the couch cushions
  • In the fountain at the mall
  • Laying on the sidewalk
Places you will not find a single coin:

  • Our yard

Nate recently picked up a new hobby, one that is completely contradictory to his love for his perfectly green and manicured lawn. That love has been overridden by a lust. A lust for coinage. He has scoured every last inch of the grass surrounding our house and now has a little baggie filled with his plunder. Shhh, don't tell him but I'm going to buy him a fanny pack for Father's Day. It will complete "the look."

You know what would also complete "the look"? Shorts with tall black socks, but I'm not even going to entertain that thought.

Ooooo.... tell him to go to construction sites in business areas!FRESH DIRT! there is supposed to be good stuff in that dirt! Like Walgreen's spot, but I have already seen people out there with metal detectors....*smile*

"A lust for coinage." HA! You're right, a fanny pack is a must for this hobby.

Don't forget those sandels that buckle on the side to go with the black socks. ;o)

ha ha! loving that fanny pack means something so different in the US.

Good luck to Nate I say. Make him trade in all his finds for a triffic holiday!

you could have a double detector.. it could be like guitar hero but with real treasure and see who gets more.
nah.. it was just a thought.

Trashalou Oh NO! I don't know if I want to know what fanny pack means in the UK!

Melanie Um.....yeah. Actually, we have two and his dad also has one. Nate has recruited Noelle as his treasure hunting buddy. It's quickly becoming a club. I'll stick with Guitar Hero.

is it sufficient to say it is in a similar region but very girl specific!

Well, we could give him props for being so "economically minded" :-)....those coins could add up to college tuition some day, right?

Be watching out for those drive-by coin throwers.....and hey, Heth, why don't you fill some planters this spring with lovely flowers, and a few coins, and see how Nate reacts....hmmmm....or make a cement stepping stone, and make a penny border...epoxy would work, too...Sorry, but I can't help but think of ways to frustrate him and entertain US...hehe

ha Ben wants one of those really bad. must be a hold over from boyhood :)

i think for an April fools joke you should have gone and gotten 100 pennies and sprinkled them all over the yard :)

Ooooh i definitely think you should entertain the thought of shorts with tall black socks. It would go nicely with all of our pasty white Iowa winter skin. :)
