The Laundry Pile Goes Out To Eat

We went out to eat yesterday. Driving through the parking lot and realizing that IHOP was completely packed, we decided to head next door to Bonanza. None of our kids had ever been there before. We introduced them to the culinary genius that is buffet.

I quickly realized that although most of them complain about school lunch, this was no more than commercial grade food under heat lamps. Somehow they were wowed by the selection and took the cafeteria style meal on full force. They were convinced they were in heaven, if heaven includes unlimited soft serve ice cream covered in gummi worms. Here are some samples of their plates, the diverse eaters that they are. It just cracks me up. Especially the last one.

Wow, if that food on the last plate were any further apart it would need 3 separate plates! ;oD

Too funny. I'm trying match plates with kids. Is it Caed, Cam, Ty, Noelle, and Jack?? But Caedmon should have lots of raw veggies. Maybe it's all Jack and throw in Noelle...hmmmm.... How about Camryn, Gemma, Ty, Caed, Jack...?
I give; pass the tapioca pudding.

Too funny. My 2nd son commented the other day how we hadn't been to the Chinese buffet in forever. I laughed considering his choices there usually are grated cheese and croutons from the salad bar and dessert.

sadly, I have brainwashed my children into avoiding "bar-fays" at any cost. I feel a slight bit guilty, but I just can't hang with the buffets. I just can't.

that is hilarious!
I am down with the pudding/sunflower seeds combo, when i was a kid i would get plates full of that cheap babyfood type applesauce my parents would be so stinking mad!!! But hey, i also got some yummy iceburg lettuce with runny ranch dressing, I have NO idea what they were complaining about!!! let them eat pudding i say!! (but i am curious to know which plate belonged to which kid!)

I LOVE that place - mine get into "moods for foods", so it's ideal - the selection rocks.

and you can't beat soft serve with ice cream!

Mmmm...my son loves a buffet.

You don't get that many choices of sugar laden goodies anywhere else.

Glad you enjoyed your night out.

Love it! Growing up as one of seven, I can attest to the love of buffets. Unlike most people, my parents always got their money's worth with us!

For the record-I hate buffets now, but I have this sinking feeling as my kids get older we will have to resort to them :-)!

That is so funny. Why do they go for blue and other neon colors that really shouldn't be food??? I like the plate of pudding, and nothing touching, lol.

I found you at Life in the Parsonage. The last picture is too funny. My 14 year brings back strange food just to annoy me I think. Seriously, who dips their chicken strips in hot fudge? YARM14YOL that's who.

I'm excited about finding your blog!
