Marathon Training: Day One

It begins.

I didn't get off to the best start. Our family is in the middle of fighting the War On Terror, the terror of a nasty stomach bug that leaves you moaning on the couch for days. I just came off of a four day battle, surviving solely on toast. Toast is not necessarily the best nutrition for running. The schedule called for 6 miles this morning. I ran the first three with Kelsey, then peetered out to a walk for mile 4, sending her on to finish strong. A well placed porta potty saved my life, then I ran the rest of the six. I foresee spending the rest of the day caring for a sweet baby who is spending the first few days as a one year old, sick. This motherhood gig is quite a marathon itself.

Thank God for the well-placed porta-potty. Running, indeed.

I hope the rest of the training is trouble-free. I still am in awe that you are RUNNING A MARATHON. Too cool.

I hear that!

You've got such a strong running base that you will totally kick this marathon's butt - you might not be able to walk for a couple of days afterwards....but still;-)

Oh Heth! If you can run that long after being sick for 4 days...that marathon is going to be a piece of cake!

Hope EVERYONE is feeling better soon!

Honey, If I were coming off of a stomach bug, I would have stayed in bed, so you're way ahead of me!

Way to go on getting out there! Please keep posting your progress...you really are inspiring!

I hope you are all feeling better. You need to train me how you think in regards to this running thing. WOW The endurance and strength. I need some of that!
