- Nate was gone all last week on the West Coast. I was reminiscing that back in the day, when he would travel I would do some sort of a big project. Mostly repainting a room or something like that. Now? It's just survival mode. I get lazy, don't cook, stay home, and wear sweatpants 24 hours a day. It's fun times. Kudos to you single moms or military wives. You are amazing.
- You all delurked. That was amazing and a highlight of my week. What an excellent and diverse group of readers there are here. I drank a cup of coffee out of my snowman mug for each of you. And boy am I on a caffeine high!
- My birthday was on Friday. The highlight? Wii telling me that I'm 24. I'm going with it. Nate got home that afternoon and we had a date night at Pizza Hut. Don't judge me, that's what I was hungry for. I'm fancy like that. Also there were two trips to Starbucks. What more could a girl want?
- Saturday night was Gourmet Club. I'm sure I've told you about Gourmet Club before but I'm too lazy to go digging in the archives for it. We've been meeting for ten years now, which is CRAZY! Maybe that deserves a post of it's own. The food was great, the theme country was Peru. Yum.
- Sunday was cram packed and very busy but we made room for a quick birthday party with my parents. My mom made Red Velvet Cake.
There are a couple pieces sitting on my counter right now, taunting me. I'm ignoring them but I can't ignore them forever.
- Also, I'm so proud of this:

Super fun weekend, but now it's laundry, laundry, laundry and will power practice, what with that cake screaming at me and everything. Maybe it will be a reward for each load I finish...

What a whirlwind!
Your countertops are the envy of more women than you know...
And I can't wait to meet the Nate/Heth shakers. I am envisioning little Lee/Gretchen shakers on MY counters.
The counter looks amazing!
(I have that same candle from WalMart)
You gotta be Wii age 24 to keep that pace! And do post about Kathy's salt and pepper shakers. Maybe she could start and Etsy business....
I need a nap just reading about your recent week! I love that you have baby Everly in your lap in front of your birthday cake. Can I hold her in my lap when my birthday comes?
What a crazy week. No judging here, baby, you know I love the Hut too. Red velvet! YUM! And, the counters look great. Love the S & P shakers, saw them right away. Mine made it through the move, YAY!
I'm sorry that I missed de-lurking day. Love your blog and your sweet SIL Anne. Your blog is how I found her. I took a break from blogging, but I'm so glad in the midst of all you do that you still give us a glimpse into your world. Love your family and your perspectives. Blessings and hugs!
The Gourmet Club - I want to hear more about it, what fun!! You're amazing.
Holy Smokes I want a counter that looks like that!!!!!!
i do the same thing - will have to steel the "survival mode" when my hubby asks what i was doing.
Hi Heth. I don't know if you got the comment I was trying to send--the language of my browser was in one that I don't understand, so I had only 3 lines to try and communicate! I missed delurking week but wanted to tell you that I have kept up with your blog for three years. You gave me some very important life advice and I am so eager to tell you all about how my life has turned out since. I can't find your email, though...can you send me a line and I'll write you? No, I am not a crazy stalker. :) Or axe murderer. :) (See, I really do keep up!) My email is fromzainab@gmail.com Have a great week!

Heth -- Everly looks just like you!!

You crazy lady :) So glad you had a good birthday! How did the wii tell you ur age? Cause im thinking that may be better than mario....
Mel It's the Wii Fit. I did all my balance stuff and games and whatever and it told me I was 24. Crack me up.
The Wii told me I'm 29. I was so excited I almost called about five friends to tell them, but I had the good sense to stop myself.
Happy late birthday!
